Study Group runs two summer school programmes in the UK; Embassy Summer and Embassy Summer Academy.  Embassy Summer Academy is an elite summer school offering professional sports, creative and academic tuition alongside English language lessons. 
Our Courses

Students who attend our summer school courses receive a combination of English language and a comprehensive programme of activities and excursions.  The activity programme will include daytime and evening activities and one half-day and two full day excursion per week.     
As an exclusive school, most students will take part in specialist courses where they receive English language lessons plus extra instruction in their chosen programme.  The courses that we offer include Multi-Activities, Elite Football, Golf, Horse Riding, Tennis, Art & Design, Dance, Sailing, Outdoor Adventures, Intensive English and Summer Academic Study. Summer Academic Study is a Non EFL multiple subject course for Intermediate level Students.


Job Purpose:

To deliver academic specialist subject tuition to residential summer school students, ensure that non-teaching tasks are completed smoothly, and prepare and lead activities and excursions as directed

Key Responsibilities:

  • To deliver academic specialist subject tuition appropriate to a summer school environment
  • To maintain proper levels of student discipline, safety and welfare
  • To assist with student placement tests
  • To ensure weekly paperwork is completed
  • To attend all relevant meetings
  • To prepare and lead designated activities & excursions as directed by the Activity Manager
  • To carry out residential duties, including meal, bedtime and night time supervision duties

Qualifications & Training

  • First Degree or equivalent  (Level 6 Qualifications and Credit Framework) (Essential)
  • QTS, PGCE or equivalent  (Essential)
  • TEFL certification (CELTA/Trinity TESOL or equivalent)  (Desirable)

Experience Required:

  • Experience of working with minors (Desirable)
  • Summer School and/or Boarding School experience (Desirable)
  • Experience of continuous enrolment  (Desirable)
  • Residential work experience  (Desirable)

  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Highly numerate, with an eye for detail


Weekly pay for a Summer Study Teacher starts at £380 p/week (incl. Holiday Pay)
Your pay is broken down as Basic Pay + Holiday Pay (Your holiday pay will be paid fortnightly)

A deduction of £40 p/week will be made for accommodation for residential staff
