Embassy Summer Academy

Study Group runs two summer school programmes in the UK; Embassy Summer and Embassy Summer Academy.  Embassy Summer Academy is an elite summer school offering professional sports, creative and academic tuition alongside English language lessons. 
Our Courses
Students who attend our summer school courses receive a combination of English language and a comprehensive programme of activities and excursions.  The activity programme will include daytime and evening activities and one half-day and two full day excursion per week.     
As an exclusive school, most students will take part in specialist courses where they receive English language lessons plus extra instruction in their chosen programme. The courses that we offer include Multi-Activities, Elite Football, Golf, Horse Riding, Tennis, Art and Design, Dance, Sailing, Outdoor Adventures, Intensive English and Summer Academic Study. Summer Academic Study is a Non EFL multiple subject course for Intermediate level Students.


Job Purpose: To ensure the pastoral care and well-being of all the pupils resident in the House

Key Responsibilities:

  • To ensure students accommodated in the house are aware of information relating to the Programme and Welfare
  • To be aware of any specific medical, health and welfare information relating to the students
  • To ensure students are aware of all housekeeping and laundry facilities and to organise this weekly
  • To undertake daily inspections of all rooms and to ensure damage is kept to a minimum and reported
  • To supervise the distribution of the evening snack for the students and hold regular student house meetings
  • To be familiar with and enforce the school rules and regulations, Health & Safety, Fire procedures and drills
  • To ensure students in the house wake up and go to bed, lessons and activities
  • To maintain security of the Boarding House and rooms
  • To be an integral part in welcoming students and parents on arrival and departure
  • To implement a House Points system under the guidance of the Welfare and Accommodation Officer
  • To attend activities and excursions as requested, including planning a weekly inter-house competition
  • Attend regular meetings with the Academy Centre Manager and Welfare and Accommodation Officer
  • To work closely with the nominated assistant House Parent who will assist you

Qualifications & Training:

  • Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent
  • Valid First Aid Certificate and Driving Licence are desirable

Experience Required:

  • Experience of working with minors is desirable
  • Summer school experience an advantage

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communicational skills
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a high-pressured environment
  • Possess a caring and compassionate nature
  • Efficient with an authoritative but approachable and friendly presence
  • Flexibility to work unsociable hours


Salary depends on the size of the centre and the experience of the applicant
This post is residential (full board accommodation is included)
Your pay is broken down as Basic Pay + Holiday Pay (Your holiday pay will be paid fortnightly)
